Before hiring a white-label partner, a short list of direct questions will tell you more than any portfolio review. Ask these before you send a single client project.
1. How do you handle communication during a project?
Vague answers here (“we’ll keep you updated”) predict vague communication later. Look for a defined check-in cadence and a named point of contact.
2. What happens if I’m not happy with the delivery?
Get the revision policy in writing before starting, not after a disagreement. Clear, pre-agreed terms protect both sides.
3. Can I see work similar to what I’m sending you?
A portfolio full of brochure sites doesn’t prove ecommerce or app-development capability. Match the sample work to your actual project type.
4. How is white-label discipline actually enforced?
Ask directly whether their name appears anywhere a client could see — code comments, email headers, support tickets. This is the difference between a real white-label partner and one that just skips a logo.
5. How many other agencies are you working with right now?
A partner stretched thin shows it in turnaround time first. This question is uncomfortable to ask and worth asking anyway.
